What means of transport is best to reach Olivium?

We recommend your own car so you can move around more easily during your stay. Car hire is available at the airports in Pisa (78 km) or Genoa (110 km). If you arrive by train, you can hire a car in La Spezia. Even though the best way to visit the Cinque Terre is by train, visits to many other places in the area will be easier by car.

Do you offer rooms or apartments?

We have 6 independent fully furnished apartments which can sleep from 2 to 5 people.

Are the prices per person or per apartment?

Our prices are per apartment; please contact us for extra information regarding possible seasonal offers or promotions.

What do the prices include?

Our prices are all inclusive (including twice-weekly change of linen, use of swimming pool and parking area). They do not include use of the laundry for which there is an extra charge.

What are times for check-in and check-out?

Check-in from 14.00-20.30
Check-out by 10.30
If your time of arrival is delayed please let us know.

Can breakfast be provided in the apartment?

All apartments have an equipped kitchen corner for maximum independence.

We have no licence to prepare food for you, however on the day of your arrival, you will find in the apartment a “breakfast basket” to ensure that you have what you need for your first breakfast. It contains instant coffee, tea, sugar, fette biscottate, butter and jam.

When is the swimming pool open?

The pool opens at 9.00 and closes at 19.00. Regulations are displayed at the entrance.

Is my parking slot guaranteed?

Yes, parking space is available for up to 6 cars – one per apartment.

Are pets allowed?

Small dogs and other small pets are permitted but must be indicated and agreed when booking.

Can you suggest any local restaurants?

There are various types of restaurants, all good quality, which we can suggest when you arrive or can book for you on request in advance.

What places - besides the Cinque Terre - can be easily reached?

The list is never-ending – Lerici, Portovenere, Palmaria, Pisa, Genoa, Lucca, Florence, Parma, with their unrivalled artistic and natural treasures, can all be reached quite easily (20 minutes to 2 hours away). See Suggested Itineraries

Can you provide any tourist information?

At your arrival you will receive a briefing, including train time table, boat time table, maps, guides and brochures.

(Also there is a Tourist Office at the train station in La Spezia.)

Do you accept credit cards?

Yes, we accept most credit cards.

Where is the nearest place for food shopping?

There is a small local food shop less than 1 km from Olivium where local people go which covers most requirements, including fresh fruit and vegetables.
For more choice, including supermarkets, you will need to go into La Spezia, less than 3 km away

What does the town of La Spezia have to offer visitors?

It’s worth spending a day in la Spezia. There are various museums and churches of interest. These include:
The museum inside the castle of San Giorgio, from where there is a magnificent view – history of the Lunigiana area;
Museo Tecnico Navale- assault craft from the First World War, historic pieces from the Italian Navy;
Museo Civico Etnografico – Lunigiana history
Museo Lia – paintings and works of art 1300-1800
Abbaziale di Santa Maria Assunta – 13th century, collection of religious works of art
